Poem: You Showed Me Love

Poem: You Showed Me Love

She said, when loneliness was tapping at my door
You intercepted sending roses to reassure
Anchoring my thoughts that someone cares
Then showing up, assuring me you are near
Giving credence saying “I’ll be your comforter”
Certifying there’ll never be another
I’m of value but I’m a shipwreck, in need of a keel
My rend heart needs affection and time to heal

You said, “When it is right you’ll know, it’ll last forever”
Offering support showing you’ll be around, so clever
Let me caress your body because you want me to
A maestro conducting an orchestra see me through
This unconditional interaction will make us one
The beat, the sound, the rhythm all are common
We travel the valley of seduction to stay whole
Give me all you’ve been missing without control

Im fighting this lustful feeling of surrender
It’s harder to say goodbye than let’s talk it over
No shame in giving myself to the one who deserves me
Your friendly mannerism, smile personality let me be
It’s better to repair things, to walk away isn’t fine
Gosh! like my healer where have you been all this time
My life is topsy-turvy but with you it is a flat plain
You make me realise how a woman should feel again
